 We've got a new economy.

If you're scratching your head like " isn't that the same question"… then you would be correct!

The truth is more than ever we need to approach our careers and our businesses as if they are one in the same. I mean, yes, the approach for each is different but they both provide the basics and/or our luxuries.

And lets' face it not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur and 20 years in the same industry, at the same company, doing the same thing, is not a productive or effective way to think of work moving forward. Even as an entrepreneur or business owner you have to be clear not only on your business model but the business models that being created that can impact your business; good or bad.

The traditional way of working  and doing business has changed . Working for one company  and then  retiring with a cushy pension, does not really exist anymore. We need to adapt to the new environment and the concept of a  constantly changing new  environment . And that includes cultivating a commitment to a lifestyle of lifelong learning. Your education doesn’t stop or start  with your Bachelors or Masters and we will need to redefine where and how we educate and create the strategy of skill stacking is very effective when online learning resources create equitable access.

Careerpreneurs are lifetime learners, with the ability to observe and adapt to a “new way” of doing things. They're intentional and implement plans for how they orchestrate the next move they attempt. They collaborate with and leverage their networks and transferable skills  by tapping into innovation & technology. They  build and maintain their personal Value Proposition.
